Hope

Armin Shimerman was right: Star Trek is about hope.

The hope that we’d be better in the future.

The hope that we’d aspire to be more.

We didn’t ignore our differences; we subordinated them to higher standards of duty and competence.

The dream wasn’t that we were all valid. It was that we could all be better.
